Montepulciano Route Planner – How to get here?

Public transport options in the area of Montepulciano are limited, therefore if you are traveling by plane or train, we strongly recommend to rent a car.

There are car rental agencies at all of the airports and train stations mentioned below except Montepulciano Stazione. Note that Chiusi-Chianciano car rental agencies can be closed on Sundays.

If you rent a car, do check whether you need an international driver’s licence before you come here. There is a hefty fine for driving without the required documents, and car rental agencies won’t necessarily warn you if your licence is not valid here. The car rental might also refuse to let you have the car if they require an international licence.

Should you prefer to get private transfers, we’ll be happy to recommend some taxis & drivers.

and while we’re here…

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is not produced in Montepulciano, but in Abruzzo. In this case, Montepulciano is the name of the grape that is used to make the wine. If you’ve bought Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, you probably spent less than you would have on a Nobile di Montepulciano or a Rosso di Montepulciano, and while it may remind you of your last holiday in Tuscany, it shouldn’t, really.
